Both my lads have oldish pc's ,one with w2000, and one withXP Pro. Neither are connected to the internet.
I want to update all their programs etc and fix any problems.
I'm using a wireless connection --what's the best and simplest way to do the updating??
Can I just switch the base units over and use my connection,or will that get too tricky??
Any suggestions please??:D

plug the ethernet cards into the wireless router, and do
start, run, cmd
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
then go to https://www.windowsupdate.comEver get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -

Thanks--I was hoping for something that my computer knowledge could manage--we're not really that good at it and I didn't want to lash out and get it done in a shop.;)0 -
Actually the connection should just work when you plug it in....if it doesn't then right click the connection ICON and click "repair"...0
