As we are not sure what sort of deals the OP is looking for ie: package, flights etc I just randomly suggested some sites I have used recently.interstellaflyer wrote: »Every time I look on Expedia they seem to be more expensive than booking the equivelent package holiday from a high street travel agent or am I doing something wrong?
So no you are not doing anything wrong, because I agree with you when you say they seem to be more expensive than going to the high street, but as our local TA's are not that competitive( one of the well known ones in our high street won't even price match anymore.)
I have used Expedia & the other sites I mentioned.
Holidays deals are a bloomin' minefield!
What someone regards as a deal someone else thinks is way over the odds.:(0 -

Hi Snowbelle, I wasn't doubting your advice, just saying it never seems to work for me, I guess flexibility is the key and some of us just don't have that luxuary. The point I was trying to put accross is for people to check what they are getting against a high street TA package and to make sure that it is a bargain and whether the things not included by the Budget Agent suit requirements, again, a bargain is only a bargain if it ticks all the boxes.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0 -
I think it depends on what type of holiday you want and how much you are willing to pay. I usually book luxury holidays while they are on offer. I pay about £500 - £700 usually for a week away at a 4* or 5* hotel. To me that is a really great deal but it may be more expensive than the prices some people pay for their holidays.0
