Hi all
Need some advise please.
I have just started a support forum for people with the same medical condition as me (neurofibromatosis). I have posted details of it on a couple of Facebook groups, but am wanting to know what I can do to achieve results on a Google search?
Total novice when it comes to putting together something like this - so please, be gentle!

is there not a charity that you can piggy back on0

Getting people to your website over somebody else's means giving them a reason to come, and keep coming back - what do you discuss on a single-issue forum? How do you make it more relevant than say an NHSDirect page? You could blog about it, but it is somewhat niche and not going to attract passing trade. For instance, why would people in those facebook groups leave their facebook groups with friends/conversations in progress to come to you with no history or community already?0

Yeh totally agree with paddyrg. If you're going to beat the Facebook groups, you're going have to provide something better than the Facebook groups offer.
Forums suit a certain amount of anonymity. That could be a starting point.0 -
