MBNA PPI Reclaim

Hi All,

Could someone confirm the process that MBNA should follow for repayment.

I've made a claim and they said that they would contact me by the 11th August however I've not heard anything. It appears that they may have upheld my complaint as I logged in to my account this morning to find an Interest Adjustment on the account.

I wasn't sure what this was so I phoned them up for clarification and the agent advised that it appears to be 8% interest but would give me any other figures or information. She did say that there were other refunds to process and she would arrange a call back from the claims department but that could take upto 10 days!

I though that they were supposed to provide details of the calculations and pre-advise the amounts that they were going to refund subject to agreement?

Hi there, well done on the 8%,you should recieve the refund shortly and a letter letting you know what the refund was and how they have worked this.

If the calculations are wrong, you can go back to them and they will look at these again,if you post the calcs here when you get them, someone will tell you if they are right.

At last the letter has arrived from MBNA....

    PPI Premiums £1,645.50
    Interest on PPI £1,515.08
    Interest 8% £240.83

8% Interest & PPI Premiums have been reunded to my card already and cleared the balance.

Hopefully the remainder will arrive by cheque in the next 28 days, so I can pay that straight into another credit card. Even without that it's brought my debt free date down to 39 Months. :j

Only strange thing is that the PPI Premiums were exactly the balance on the card! Makes me wonder if they cheated.
