Mis Selling by Uswitch/Npower

I switched from British Gas to NPower last August because Uswitch said I could save 242 pounds, based on the previous years consumption. NPower offered a low monthly direct debit then tried to charge me for this years price increase for last years fuel consumption. So, instead of the 41 pounds a month d/d the now want 175 pounds a month, which was lowered to 110 per month. I am disputing this beecause the contract was mis-sold by both Uswitch and NPower, which forcast 690 pa, dual fuel and now they want me to pay 1542 pounds, for a 3 bed house.

You could not make it up - or could you? NPower have!

    Hi,

That's a very big increase in your DD. I'll be happy to look into this for you - I'd need a few more details like your energy consumption and the name of your energy tariff.

When we make a prediction for the cost of the tariff for the year ahead, it is just that - a prediction - based on the info we have at the time about how much energy you tell us that you use and what the tariff rates are at the time. If the rates go up or you energy usage changes, so will your bill.

    Thanks

    Lauren
