Connecting new laptop to internet?

Sorry for being a bit non-techie here.

Just bought a refurbished laptop from Argos eBay but notsure how to go about connecting it to the internet. Not got a wireless router yet but will soon, just want to use it in place of this pc at the mo.

Is this fairly straightforward?
Skint: (adjective) The tendency to turn off the grill when turning the bacon.

Think skint - it makes things simpler

  • Plug in the ethernet cable in to the laptop , and away you go.
Plus if the router has more than one port you could both at the same time if you have two ethernet cables

Yes, it is just a matter of plugging the Ethernet cable in to the laptop.

    Make and model of laptop?

How do you connect to the Internet now?
