The valves aren't bad, I can't remember that one but I'm fairly sure they pulled one of my valves the right way in by shoving a tube up my leg.

You're not allowed sleeping pills cos they make you talk through the surgery. They stick something in your drip though and you just don't care. Even when they nicked an artery and the scalpel went flying across the room I hit the giggles instead of freaking out that my blood was spurting off the ceiling!

As long as we can giggle life is good ;)

My Father In Law has had a lot to contend with like yourself from the sounds of it, quadruple bypass, widening veins/arteries ( which caused blindness) and has had double amptation too ( not at the same time) but effectively four times as they did above the ankle first, then had to go above the knee on
    both legs.

He is 72 years old and doing well - he is my hero. My Mother in Law is
fantastic, she is in her 70s and cares for him, although it is affecting her health.

I have read your posts and your stregnth of character reminds me of
My FIL, as does your humour. The first thing he said when he had his first amputations was " at least I won't get slippers for Christmas!" and I can imagine similar humour from yourself. :)

I firmly believe that keeping up humour is important and has kept him going. I know of your recent struggle and I have the utmost respect for your continued stregnth and vigour in the face of adversity. I may not know you but can tell that you are someone to be admired, and I bet this is not the first time you have heard these words either ;)

thank you Anubis, not really sure how to reply to that.

I will tell you though that 13 years ago come November my dog had a litter of pups and I wanted to call one Anubis, parents weren't for having it and called the pup Penny. She suited that name better but anubis the dog was so much cooler to 12 year old me.

i also have a bluebadge, which is great, helps me loads.
only thing, because i visually have all my limbs, young (ish) and nothing seams to be amiss, i have soooo many people shouting at me when i am brave enough to use my badge.
    go for it.

People expect to see disability, and they are very judgmental when they don't. They can't seem to grasp that disability comes in m any forms, and just because someone has legs, does not mean they are not disabled. Sign of the times, but so frustrating for those who are a target for such abuse. Put a sticker in your car window for the heart foundation, and put your blue badge next to it, then when anyone shouts at you, just point to the sticker ;)
