Representing Excel data with custom graphics

Hello,
I have an Excel spreadsheet, with data that I am looking to represent graphically. I’m not looking for a pie chart of bar graph though. I want to make a custom graphic. Specifically:
There is a target of money to reach. Several people are going for this target. I want to represent the ‘journey’ as the surface of the earth. I want to plot the positions of each person with regards to how far they are on getting to their target, i.e. someone with 50% of their total will be shown as half way around the world. The data in the spreadsheet will more than likely be a percentage of target money.
The option to add small graphics to the plotted points - i.e. a small picture of the person attempting the challenge – would be useful.
Any suggestions as to how I would do this?
Cheers

Hi, I am sure this can be done and I'd love to take on the challenge, can you help by being a little more specific, when you mean you want an image to move across the surface of the Earth, do you have an image you intend to use and do you want the people to travel across countries representing you pre-determine or does width of the Earth image determine how ar people move across to the right...?
I have just done a small test with some images and I can programatically move images across others on a mouse click using values from a calculation but I'd need to understand more of what you need to help you best

Hi Kevin,
I dont have an image yet, but the plan is to have an image of the surface of the earth. A specific route will be used (i.e. London-Folkestone-Calais-Paris.... zig-zagging around the world .....New York-Greeland-Iceland-Shannon-Blackpool-London). The plan is either 50 or 100 locations.
Based on the percentage achieved of target amount, each user will be plotted at the location on the image which they have achieved. So, if someone has achieved 10% of target, their little 'dot' will appear at the 10th location (or 5th is only 50 locations are being used).
For each user, I would like to either use a dot, or have the option to have a small image (i.e. a picture of their face) for their 'marker'.
Does this help any further?
Cheers for your help
