Planning portal smoke and mirrors.

Just wondering if anyone has experienced similar problems.

My local Council always publish planning applications at a searchable website portal - it has always worked well - being able to view all associated documents for an application / applications going back many years.
It was a very useful service.

I have had cause to raise a serious complaint regarding an application that has directly affected & damaged my property.
The Council Ombudsman of course found in favour of the Council despite what appeared to be blatant untruths on the planning application.
Since the Ombudsman’s findings, all references & documents have been surgically removed from the Council database.
Strangely the plans for building regulation have also been misplaced so no chance of viewing the paper version.

Lewisham Planning I salute you.

once the consultation period is over for an application then it can be removed from the councils website (usually they remain on there forever) However i have noticed the same, once an application goes to external review the docs are usually removed from the council website...
building standards should have at least two copies of the drawings, they never ever like to show anyone them however! Although it is clear you have issues with the planning department and not building standards so it would be very different set of drawings, put a request in under freedom of information to the planning department, they should supply a copy of the entire case file (i have done this a few times)

Don't confuse the OPs desire to a) kick the council and b) suspect conspiracy within against him with usual custom and practice.:D

They will have paper files which you can go in and view at your convenience.

They often don't publish online particularly contentious or large developments. Yours clearly falls into one of those categories.

    Just spoke with the ombudsman.
Aparently the website suffered a failure, which had specifically lost this case.
Yes of course I am suspicious!
Thank heavens for Google cached pages. The case has been published online previously.

The freedom of information routine, mentioned in one of the replies is apparently the correct route.
    Thank you.
