Apologies if this is in the wrong section, but I'm posting more out of frustration than the need for advice (although any given would be greatly received!)
Just moved to a new area with my partner after getting a new job and we've been living with his parents temporarily for the summer until we find somewhere. I am extremely grateful that we've been as lucky as we have but I do miss having my own place. In addition I'll be facing a 60 mile commute when I start in September.
Anyway, we found two possible homes with two different estate agents, one of them we've fallen in love with. This particular estate agents told me yesterday that they'd have to chase up the tenants so we could sort a viewing and call me tomorrow with an update. Nothing. So I rang again today at 6pm to find out what happened, they said they call me back and guess what? Nothing. I'm so angry at the moment, we've lost out on a couple of places because we got in too late, and now we've finally found one that hasn't been let yet we're being made to wait! I'm aware that I should be waiting for them to sort things at their end, but I don't like being told I'll be contacted when I'm not.
I feel like calling them tomorrow, but I'm worried they'll start getting narked with me. I also feel like giving them hell but I doubt that'll get me very far (although being patient clearly isn't either).
I'm getting so edgy as we're nearing closer and closer to my start date. I adore my bf's parents, and they have been so kind to us but at the end of the day I'm in someone else's house, which I find a little uncomfortable. I feel I can't just root around their cupboards or make a brew when I feel like it in case I'm being rude.
I know I'm actually quite lucky I have somewhere to live, but it's all still very annoying all the same!

As long as you are polite when you call then following up on a situation like this once a day is not likely to upset them. It may be that the agent was waiting a phone call from someone else to answer your query and didn't get it, got distracted and forgot to call you back. Its annoying but it does sometimes genuinely happen.0

Rule of thumb: if you state the second part of your job title as "agent" and the first part isn't "secret" then you're generally a complete <expletive deleted>!0

Eurgh, I know. When I lived in Manchester they actually called back when they said they would. Not sure what it is about the North East! You just know they'll be right on my back if I didn't pay my rent :doh:0 -
Perhaps they are allowing the present tenants " quiet enjoyment of their home"I am not a cat (But my friend is)0

That's fair enough, but if the house is up for rent then they should expect viewings. In my experience I've never been allowed the 'quiet enjoyment of my home' when any house I've lived in has been on the market.0
