How to report Sale of Goods Act infringement?

When you say "quite some time has passed," are you referring to the cancellation period? How long after delivery did you reject the goods?
I rejected the goods upon inspection - less than a week after delivery. He refunded the mattresses about 2 months after that point, immediately upon receipt of letters which Consumer Direct helped me craft outlining my rights under the Sale of Goods Act. He stopped corresponding with me long before he refunded me though.0 -
In which case you need to approach your credit/debit card issuer. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0

Is this true even though the postage I am trying to recoup was from a different (unrelated) companyI?
Sorry, I don't undrestand? Did you pay a different company to the seller? The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

Yes, I paid a delivery company to collect the mattress and return it to the mattress company I bought it from. The mattress company said they would refund the postage and never did. It is the postage of £20 that I was trying to reclaim. When I realised there was no mechanism for me to do so, besides small claims court, I wondered if I could at the very least report the mattress company for its malpractice.0 -

Although I am not sure, but I think you can still claim against your credit card issuer for these costs.
Why would the seller not arrange for the collection of the goods? The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

Why would the seller not arrange for the collection of the goods?
I don't know. Originally he was going to, then he just asked me to arrange it. Consumer Direct said that this often happened and that I could expect to be refunded later.
In retrospect I imagine he just decided to save some money on postage knowing that it would be difficult for me to recoup that cost.0 -

In which case you need to discuss this with the card issuer. From memory (I might be misinterpreting the ruling) the card issuer is probably liable for any out of pocket expenses as well. This, I think, was highlighted by the ash cloud incident, when people were claiming from the airlines, but the airlines were refusing to pay up.The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0
