DLA non dependent deductions

I read on the DWP website that if a person is claiming the care component of DLA then no 'Non dependent deductions' will be taken.
Have I got this correct or am I thick and read it wrong?

There are no deductions from DLA payments at all.

non-dependant deduction is an amount taken from Housing Benefit, or housing element of Income Support or JSA. Often it is where there is a 'grown up' child in the house and an amount is deducted according to what that person earns. this is seen as the amount they should be contributing to the housing costs.
The exception to this is where the person claiming gets DLA care, then no deduction is taken as that other adult in the property is often a carer (though doesnt have to be).
Hope that helps:wall:Trying to get a grip :think:0 -
