Purchased a PVT Reg from DVLA website for my car. I received an email stating the new V750 Certificate of Entitlement will be sent within 14 days.

Can someone please tell me what I do when I receive it to transfer Reg over ???

I have never had a PVT Reg before, so am clueless.

Thanks all

  • If you have a DVLA office near you just take in your Log book, MOT and your cert for the new reg and they will sort it out. You used to have to take in your tax disc but they now send you that out with your new MOT then you send the old tax disc back as I discovered the other week when changing the wifes over. On your cert it should say you have paid the assignment fee so you shouldn't have to pay anything else except for new plates. Search online for them you should get a basic set for under £20.

Remember and tell your insurance company

also remember that you cannot alter the spacing of the plate, some areas you can get away with it, others are hot and can issue a fine and threaten the withdrawal of the plate.
You are supposed to buy your plates from recognised dealers presenting them with the correct ID and documents,

I got my number plates done at halfords, werent cheap but because I have format of letter-2 numbers-3 letters i thought the potential for thinking i was abusing it was high (only people that know me understand what the plate means)
Who remembers when X Factor was just Roman suncream?
