the silver accom we got at Bognor felt like being back in the 40's or something, the Gold looked a better deal if you got some of the newer accomodation, properly put us off though, was bloody awful

I stayed in Gold and it's worth paying extra (although I booked last minute and got it dirt cheap). It was a 3 bed and you parked in the car park by there and not the big one. Someone helps you get the luggage from your car and take it to your apartment. We paid £10 to get a ground floor apartment.

Be aware that everything in Butlins is dear, Bognor town centre is a short walk along the beach so we went and got some shopping.

To be honest I never used their entertainment much, there was just so much to do out and about that we done that but I have been to Butlins loads over the years and the entertainment is fantastic. For the evening you will have to queue to get a decent table.

Stayed in silver and it was grotty. The carpet was filthy and little one was crawling!!! Pay the extra for Gold they looked so much nicer.
However, my kids loved the entertainment. The Bob show was a big hit. (Children were 4 and 1) . My little girl thought it was a wonderful holiday and still wants to go back. Going camping instead. At least I know what to expect!

Sorry to be a party pooper but we went last feb half term to Bognor and stayed in Gold accomodation and it was grotty, loads of faults with the accom, even the front door wouldn't close. In fairness to Butlins they tried to sort the faults out but as someone else said the carpets seem to have a degree of stickiness about them. The whole complex seemed dirty, it took ages to get a cubilcle in the pool and when we did there were dirty nappies in it. But it was half term and the 'guests' could and least clear up after themselves. The entertainment I have to say was really good, as were the actual staff. I just don't think there was enough of them at busy times. Also take some insulated mugs to make a nice cup of coffee before you leave your accom as the price of a cuppa was extortionate. Having said all that our kids absolutely loved it and couldn't work out what our problem was.

We quite often go to Butlins, last time was about 3 wks ago, just before Xmas. We always stay in Silver & we find it fine for just a long weekend. Don't stay in standard, its dreadful. We always go Half Board & theres always a good selection of food. My kids love the entertainment (4 & 14) & I usually have quite a laugh at it too! I would much rather go to Butlins than Haven, but thats just my opinion.

  • We are booked to go there in June. We have a Silver Suite (whatever that is), and are booked half board.

Does anyone know what time the meals are etc, in particular Breakfast. I heard it wasn't till 9am, but my son will be climbing the walls if he has to wait until then!!!
