carpetbagging / Windfalls from BS - Children?

I am thinking of opening a savings account for my little one and just wondered if I opened it with a BS would she qualify for shares/windfalls for the BS merged or was taken over or because she is under 18 would she be unable to qualify?

It would depend on who was 1st named on the account, some BS wont allow children under a certain age to have an account in their sole name, you need to check each BS T&C's.

Also there is no gaurentiee that they will make a payout to children, each has there own rules, although Bradford &Bingley, Universal, Portman, Lambeth have all done so to date.
