Recipe/Shopping list manager

Options
Does anyone know of a free recipe managing programme that can produce shopping lists.

I'm trying to menu plan for the week and it would be great if there was a way to pick out the menus then export the ingredients to a shopping list so that I'm not tempted to spend money on other things or end up buying something that I've already got.

Cheers

Max

I use this site for meal planning, you add the meal to your shopping list and then a list is produced for you combining all of the meals together, it's really useful. you can also edit the list so you can add/remove items yourself.

You do need to join up but membership is free unless you want to pay for premium services/recipes. The shopping list/recipe box features are all free though.

There is this, it costs just over £15, but does allow you to keep track of your cupboard contents too. You can download a trial copy and play a bit. I didn't buy it because I have a vast recipe collection and couldn't face typing them all in, and the program couldn't cope with keeping a record of which book they are in. The programmer/owner answers questions on his forum very promptly.

If you google for recipe software you will find other possibilities.

You'll find some menu plan spreadsheets (at least one of which produces a shopping list) in a collection written by our members, here:-
