Best way to buy curtains for a house

Sorry if this is a daft question. LOL. I often only have one day at home per week (Saturday) due to work commitments. I've been refurbishing my house since March this year with non-stop work every week. It's pretty much complete and now i'm into the final stages of the internal decor.
I need to buy nets and curtains for all of the windows. However, I simply have no time to measure up everything and then to spend hours in shops looking for stuff I like.
So, what is the best way to get decent curtains at a reasonable price, given the above constraints?
Are there shops/services out there that will bring in samples of curtains and measure up at a time convenient to me at my home (like they do for carpets)? And would these offer fitting services?

Yes, there are, but you will pay rather a lot more for that service, particularly the fitting. If you can ask around, or look online, you might find someone who makes curtains at home, who will come with samples, measure, make & fit them, for a lot less than calling a big firm in.
Do you already have the means to hang curtains? Ie, poles, or tracks.
What types of curtains are you after? Plain-ish modern gathered or eyelet, or more traditional with matching pelmets & frilly bits
?
If you have poles up already, eyelet curtains are by far the easiest to buy & hang.
We've bought some lovely ones from terrys fabrics (& quidco too), which look much more expensive than they were. They sell a lot of the same ready made curtains you will find in other shops, so it's only one website to look at.0 -
Unfortunately I have nothing up already - just painted walls and new windows. I'm after modern, understated, curtains of a reasonable quality.Everyone is entitled to my opinion!0

I've used Curtains Curtains Curtain before & was happy. I measured (easy enough to do) & chose my curtains on the web & they delivered. Very reasonable price too.0

In which case, I'd order poles & eyelet curtains online from the same shop, & get a handyman round to fit the poles for you once they've arrived.0

Yes you can buy curtains in many places, even when you do your supermarket shop. For ease, I would measure up the windows, go to somewhere like a large Marks and Spencers or John Lewis where you know there'll be a good quality selection of curtains and poles etc, pick them, buy them and as said, get a local handyman in to fit them for you. If you're a busy person it would be useful to know one anyway and it is a good simple job to help you judge them.
I think you'll be as overwhelmed with choice if you get someone round to measure up and supply them - lots of different fabric, choice of drop etc but look in the "curtains and soft furnishings" section on yell.com (sort by distance closest to you so they wont absorb travel costs into the charges!)0
