I have made another thread:

https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3399800

About the other issues I am having with switching from Scottish Power to EDF using Beat That Quote.

I have been trying to get in touch with Beat That Quote, but they seem to not respond to emails and when I phone.

This was the email I sent which summarises the thread above:
Dear Sir/Madam,

I have used your website, Beat That Quote.com, to switch from Scottish Power to EDF on 30/07/2011. I have done this for two properties, Property A and Property B.

Everything has gone through perfectly fine for Property A, but I have heard nothing back about Property B. I have included the email below confirming that you have received my details for the switch.

I am starting to worry as I have not had an email or letter from EDF yet (only the confirmation from Beat That Quote). I have phoned EDF and the switch has not appeared on their system yet and they have no information of it.

My main concern is that Scottish Power has a leaving fee of £70 for my current dual fuel contract. However, due to the price increase I had 15 working days from notifying them that I was switching to them being contacted by another energy supplier and I would not be charged a leaving fee. I notified them on 29/07/2011 which gave me until 18/08/2011 to switch.

It feels unfair that I have contacted Scottish Power, done the switch through Beat That Quote, contacted EDF and Scottish Power and I could still get charged a leaving fee and made to pay the standard rates from 01/08/2011.

Could you please confirm if you have forwarded my details to EDF for the switch to take place for Property B?

I have phoned your phone number 0800 599 9955 and each time I have been put through to an automated message that promises to contact you within 30 mins and I have had no response when leaving messages. I have contacted 0845 652 1546, but the woman I spoke to at 15/08/2011, 13.43 claimed they only deal with switches over the phone and that I would have to email at contact@beatthatquote.com for any switches that took place through the website.

I am very unhappy with the service I have received and if Beat That Quote has not forwarded the details of the switch to EDF I would like to be reimbursed the leaving fee I am to be charged by Scottish Power.

I would be grateful if you could please contact me as soon as possible so I know what is happening.

Yours sincerely,

I know it is most likely EDF's fault considering the problems people have been reporting, but I would like someone at Beat That Quote to confirm that the details were passed so I can state to EDF for certain that they are at fault for the delay in my switching and being charged a leaving fee.

Anyone know how to contact Beat That Quote?

    Owned by Google aren't they?

Complaints process is listed here which sort of (a title at least) identifies a specific person & address you can complain to if you wish

The service from Beat That Quote has suddenly improved now that I have got in touch with someone via phone.

They stated an email was sent, but I did not receive one. They have stated they are going to chase up EDF on the matter and discuss with them the issue of the Scottish Power leaving fee.

So fingers crossed that everything goes well.
