Hi all,
I have loads of files on my Hard Disk. Without me doing anything, it often switches between Thumbnails, Filmstrip, Icons etc! But I don't like it to do this - i'd rather Icons for everything on my L: Drive!
How can this be done, and prevent any autiomatic changes?
Many Thanks,
Matt.

In Windows Explorer, set it to Icons, then click Tools - Folder Options - View tab - Apply to All Folders. I'm not sure if that applies to all drives or just the current drive though.0

Ahhh, I use that View tab all the time - just I don't take notice of that top bit!
Cheers matey!0 -
I am also about to copy about 145GB from one External Drive to another.
Is it safe to Select all, right click, copy, then paste to a new drive, or do you recommend doing it bit by bit (maybe a few top level folders at a time)?
Total Number of files = 46000!!!!0 -

Just select the lot and then Edit, Copy to folder from windows explorer, and copy it to the new drive in one go.0 -
No, do it all in one go. Windows should handle it no problem. Copy then compare file sizes and numbers in source and destination folders as a check.0

Good plan!
