letters :(

  • I think we went BR on the same day if I remember? I ignore my letters, didn't even bother to pass the first few through to OR as I thought I'd let the info filter through to them.

There was one I called, I thought out of kindness, they were chasing for £14.02 but OR said I couldn't pay it back as it was before BR. So I called them to let them know to save their paper and calls as they wouldn't get the £14. It ended up with the man on the other end of the phone telling me off because "it isn't funny" when I laughed when he told me they would continue to persue the debt, after I explained the BR.

I decided at that point there was no point bothering calling again!

That's unlike you to worry mandyl :-)

I'd ask your examiner to give them a ring. When I was an examiner I used to quite enjoy it, you would ring up and usually get the process where you dial in all the key numbers, this of course makes sure that that the dca person has the account open when they pick up the phone at which point they launch into a long aggressive diatribe about what they are going to do to you. I usually let them blow themselves out for a few minutes in a flurry of frustration and bluster.

Then when they stopped to draw breath I would simply say, I'm sorry you seem to be mistaken, I'm not Mr bankrupt I'm calling from the official receivers office. Usually their silence thereafter told me that they new full well that they were in the wrong

  • Hey Mandyl,

nothing else to add advice-wise, but don't let them upset you.
the abuse is pathetic and the realisation they cannot harass you anymore.

    me worry nah never :)
it was strange cos i started panicking for no reason then i was annoyed.
i know better than to ring them but was cross lol. the women was so abusive i honestly dont know how they do the job.
the thing that rattled me the most is that i was informed by the examiner personally let they were informed 29th july. now allowing for post etc thats roughly two wks ago. also when i rang a diff creditor last wk they knew and had the info in front of them. ok so slim chance eos got lost in post but i very much doubt it.

mandyl...you could simply wind them up?

Might make you feel better dishing it out instead of receiving it?
No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......

without doing anything that may be construed as wrong, i would simply ask anyone that rings you up lots of questions, you have as much right to know about them as they do about you.

so what is the name of the person calling?
sorry i meant your full name?
    what is your staff number?
what sort of qualification do you have to be handling my case?
can you explain the purpose of your call?
what legislation are you basing that on?
    what is the company name?
is that the trading name or the companies actual name?
of then what is the actual name?
    are you limited then?
you are, what is the company registration then?
    what are the directors names?
what sort of licences do you need to do this sort of work?
who are you registered with? when is your registration renewed?
are you hving a nice day?
what is the weather like where you are?, its a bit gloomy here

i dont think you will get to the bottom of that list, if you do come back for some more?
