  • So? Let them follow through with this threat. They won't - not because it's too much hasstle - but because their case is weak, they will not win, and the only option for them is to harass you as they are doing.

Tell them bluntly to get stuffed.
  • Make certain your workplace does NOT in ANY CIRCUMSTANCE WHATSOEVER cut your wages to make payment. There will be serious legal consequences for them if they try that stunt.

You have not been given a fine, just an invoice, a glorified charity appeal. Only authorities may fine, you are dealing with a private company and the law of the land is that one citizen does not fine/penalise another. Landowners can sue for losses only and these have to be calculated and neatly presented. There is no scenario where you are given one bill which increases as time goes by. This isn't a taxi. You in turn are most definitely not a consumer.

A threat is all it is, ignore them and they will eventually give up.

Next time tell them if they ring again you will report them for harassment then put the phone down next to a loud radio till they ring off.
  • My concern is the OP's workplace. May they get involved and cut the wages?

If so - call your nearest Employment Tribunal immediately, request an ET1 form, fill it and list your grievance as Unlawful Deduction of Wages. In this case, it is the employer who must pay for the hearing (I think), it definitely doesn't cost you.

But if your employer stays out as they should, this should just be between you and a Surrey-based tinpot business whose employees call it "Graham White solicitors". They are recongised scammers and I too am on their band waggon. There are no phonecalls in my case but their letters get sent back every week - marked "refused".

If they call again, place the phone by your loudest music system and scald their ears.
  • You were parked in an non-dedicated bay, and have thus been charged for doing so.

If the matter has reached the solicitors, it is a stark warning that you should do everything within your power to settle this charge as soon as possible.

    Ignore this troll.
Went shoplifting at the Disneystore today.

Got a huge Buzz out of it.
  • You were parked.

If the matter has reached the "solicitors",-ignore.

    Edited for accuracy.

    Troll lol

Ignore the "fine" its not worth the paper its written on. I would complain to your employer that they really need to use someone better.

I could charge the troll for posting misinformation. Does not make it legally enforceable though.

Firstly, there is no loss involved here and secondly as any fule kno Graham White is just an arm of Roxburghe's debt collectors not in any real sense a solicitors as the man on the Clapham Omnibus would understand. The closest this letter has ever got to a solicitor is that it contains the word and bears the facsimile of a solicitor's signature. In all other respects it is just another debt collectors begging letter.

The realistic approach would instead to consider the "threat" as the last desperate throw of the dice.

No but it will be great fun taking money out of him for the sake of it!
