Hi
Just recd a letter from Hsbc for card holder protector. The letter states that they do not accept the allegations I have set out, but on this occasion they are prepared to settle my complaint, without any admission of liability.
It then says as a result of their decision, it is not their intention to respond specifically to the individual issues that I have raised other than to explain how they intend resolving the matter.
It says then, they are calculating the redress required to compensate me appropriately. They will be writing to me again within 4 weeks to set out their settlement proposal
Is this a success even tho they admitted no liability?

Hi there
And yes it does, so they will still pay out without admitting liability as a goodwill gesture, well done!:beer:The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Thanks Debbie
I sent off my 7 complaints to Hsbc on 13/05/11 they recd them on 17/05/11
This is the first one I have had come back successful
I rang them before I had the letter this morning and the said that my complaints are in the final stages and I should have a reply within 4 weeks
Hope that gives you an idea
Good luck0 -

ok, thanks for your reply, yes that has given me a good idea of how long I have left to find out xx0

You could ring them, they seem friendly enough on the phone and you get straight through on the phone.
A friend of mine put a complaint in the day before mine and he has had hardly any contact from them at all, think 2 letters. Where as I have had a lot of letters from them, at least 6/7. Think it depends who has your complaint as well.
Good luck hope you get a decision soon

Hi,
My OH has had a similar reply for his csrdholder protection. We had no other mail from the lady investigating and then a letter saying final response, complaint not upheld but premiums back as goodwill gesture. HOWEVER they have not put any calculations on the letter and have missed out the first 6 months of the premiums so I have sent another letter back with copies of statements/agreement etc and as its final response I've sent same to the FOS. Figues that if we just accepted whatever they give out then the potential £8000 that we're waiting to hear about for my oh's old loan could also be reduced. I've pre-empted them on that one and sent every statement and the agreement.
I got confused that the complaint is not upheld yet they are willing to pay the money back!! Think it's a standard response and hoping that this stands us in good stead for the loan to also be paid back. Here's hoping.
only 3 weeks till the 16weeks is up!! I've never looked forward to the post so much in my life!
