Arriva Change Ticket

Morning all,

I need some help!

I got on an Arriva bus this morning and the bus driver didn't have any change for my £10 note. The driver gave me what looks like a normal bus ticket but it says '£8 CHANGE' on it.

Does anyone know what I can do with it to get my money back?

I've noticed it's only valid for 7 days and I don't use the bus daily so won't need to spend £8 on busses over the next 7 days.

Please help!

Thank you :)

Why didn't you ask the driver??

    Arriva customer services: 0844 800 44 11 or 01582 587023

I did ask the driver, he said that if I got on a bus they would swap it for money.

However i'm not sure i'll be getting on a bus in the next 7 days as I normally drive to work.

I was wondering whether there was another option!

As far as I know you do have to get on the bus to swap it...I have had this argument with them! I usually ask if they'll give me the change when I get off instead, so I don't get stuck with a piece of paper like this. Some drivers are very odd about swapping them too.

Do you mind me asking where you caught the bus?

Change vouchers (as they're commonly known) can be exchanged for cash. Your local Arriva travelshop should be able to arrange this. Is there a branch in your hometown?

    Thanks for your replies!

I popped down the bus station after work and swapped it for money.

Elle7 you were right though, the bus driver was very reluctant to swap it, strange!
