Second V+ HD box setup

I've been offered a V+ HD box on freecycle and i'd like to use it in another room to watch and record programmes. I already have a V+ HD box and i'm wondering how you go about connecting it up and, if possible, will i be able to watch programmes independently of the main box, say Missus watching soaps whilst i watch, discovery channel for instance. Is this possible or will the second box just piggy back the main one's channel being viewed? Any help appreciated in strictly 'village idiot' terms please....

Exactly.Plus the original owner of the box will be billed up to £250 if it's not returned. Not only that but the box will be disconnected off the system & will only be useful as a door stop & VM can also track where a box is down to the node it is connected to by the MAC address
