Hi there and well done!
It can differ from one bank to the other, but the details should be held on file to what I know of, so they may refund the amount to the debt, anything remaining plus interest will be awarded directly to you, or it may be the case that if the debt is now moved on, it may all be awarded directly to you, maybe someone will clarify on this, well done. The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Normally in cases like this, the bank will deduct the amount owed on the debt from the redress. Even if they have used a third party collection agency.
It doesnt always happen as record keeping is not always as good as it should be (which is one of the reasons they banks are having to pay out like this).I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
