Double glazing company cut off BT cable! Not happy!

Hello,

I'm looking for advice on behalf of my mom & dad and would be very grateful if someone could guide me in the right direction with this.

They had a double glazed front door fitted by a small company last week, ever since then they could not access the Internet. Today their Internet provider sent someone out to have a look, and they discovered that one of the cables on the outside of the house had been cut off, which they then instantly realised was obviously caused by the men who fit the door in. Their internet provider has charged over £140 for the repair.

After ringing the company and speaking with the manager, they have said they have spoke to the guys who fit it and none of them would accept responsibilty, and there is nothing they can do other than to come and assess it, but they will say anything to not have to own up to it.

What are their rights with this and what are the next steps they should take?

Thank you

Only problem being lack of proof and it simply being ops word against theirs.

Probably exhausting all complains procedures and breathing down their necks for the next few months may make them eventually realise she will not go away. Once they realise this they will hopefully offer to compensate here, if not just to get rid of her - hopefully.
