    I was gutted I missed her special on You Are What You Eat. I do like that programme, and it seems she's been losing weight since then so good on her.

    Hmm, yes quite..the singing career didn't last very long did it!

    ...but she is an inspiration for all us dieters, considering that she told Gillian McK that she would not eat fish, or give up booze.

    She's still in the music industry though - she's turned to writing. She won an Ivor Novello award a couple of years ago against some very stiff competition.

    Agree totally about the dieting inspiration, I've got 2 stone to shift and have lost 2lbs so far!

    Unfortunately I have a lot more to lose than that, and really have to do something about it this year. Just getting my head round it & into a positive mood.

    I need to lose 2 stone but I find gillian mcKeith's methods very hard (and expensive) to maintain long term. I'm a bigh fan of Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin programme - I lost over a stone last year on that, but didn't stick to it and now need to start again :(
