Has anyone seen or owned this sofa?
I have been looking for a leather recliner that is 'without' the media centre (which is basically a storage box with cupholders).
The picture shows it WITH one.
The dimensions of both 'with' and 'without' the media centre are the same.
I've asked them about it and they are (after some pushing) sending me a leaflet with all photos and details.

I was actually considering buying this suite as our local store has it on display. We loved it but after taking time to think about it - its definitely over priced. Yes it has the two holes to stick your drinks on ...............but our coffee table has enough space to hold our drinks for the night no problem!
Basically, its a suite that has the reclining action..............and a rocking action..............with a couple of holes for your drinks.
Way over priced.0 -
I've seen one at DFS called the Supreme. This genuinely is a fantastic sofa. Super duper comfortable, but again is it overpriced?
No drinks hold, but feels like a Lazyboy to sit on.
Don't like the salesmen very much tho - pushy.
I very the Harveys one was comfy, and for a recliner, good leather etc, it did seem a very good one, and judging on other prices, I personally thought the price was ok.
It's just that there are none without the central bit on display, and I'm not buying, until I've seen!0 -

Well I have bought the Paramount! We went round a few sofa shops - that was just a nightmare in itself with all these fake friends of mines waiting to serve me!!! Anyway just a wee tip for you. You can get 5% cashback via Quidco for the Harveys website and I told the salesman today that I was only in to look as I was going to be ordering online & taking advantage of the Quidco. He offered me 10% plus a free leather care kit worth £39.99 as we had had an encounter with a rude saleswoman!!
I ordered 1 x Paramount 2 Seater with Media Tray & manual recliner plus 1 x 2 seater without media tray as thats all my small lounge will fit! Total cost inc the £59 delivery charge was £1839

Well done you.
I wouldn't buy from them because they didn't have it without the media tray to try out.
I've been told many times: do not buy before sitting on the exact one you want.
Plus, having been lied to by that very store, when the lady told me on the phone "I am looking at a two seater without the tray", only to find that the store does not have ANY without the tray - I am completely put of Harveys altogether.
I had a similar "lying" experience with another store, again I won't be returning and in fact made a complaint. Bending the truth is one thing, and out and out lie - unforgivable.0 -
I'd be very wary of Harveys. There is various threads on here about them. We personally have had absolutely diabolical aftersales service from them. We purchased a corner unit which quickly started falling to bits, when I phoned they actually said to me that oh yes, they'd had problems with that suite. Sent someone out who rejected our claim. The corner unit was in a home lived in by one person 9.5 stone....Never again! No kids, few visitors. They were way out of line.
I'd be reading those other threads before I part with my money0 -
I don't think i will be buying from any "sofa shed", as they are often called.
They do seem to be companies that just want to do the 'hard sell', even if they start out as a "best friend".
Harvey's blatantly lied, so I shan't be buying from them. If they lied on that, makes you wonder what else they'd lie about.
I'm looking at getting a Celebrity sofa, for many reasons. The "Woburn" is super comfortable. They are sold in independants. Even AHF in the anglia region are nice people.
And they are British made!! So they are more pricey, but I think they will be made better.
If anyone has any comments on that brand, please tell me.0 -

The suite I have just now was bought from Harveys 5yrs ago and never had any problems with the suite or the company. I think you could probably Google most big companies and find complaints about them.
We went back in today for another look at the suite - and it really does seem sturdy and leather is good quality.
I am hopeful things will be just fine

Suite arrived yesterday and we are over the moon!! Its without doubt the most comfiest sofa we have ever had! The rocking action is so relaxing and it looks and feels like a good quality sofa (well at that price so it should be!)
The two seater reclines horizontally and could be used as a bed!
Recommend to anyone considering buying this. The lift up part iof the media sofa is actually plastic i.e waterproof and my husband has said it will be filled with ice and beer stuck in their OH NO IT WONT!!!0 -
I bought the paramount sofa set ... for £3,200 and am waiting for delivery.
1 3-seater with power recliner, 1 3-seater with manual recliner, 1 2-seater with manual recliner plus rocker and media tray.
Have I paid too much?
I looked around and at 100% leather etc they all seem to be around this price. I didn't want one with PVC arms and back.0 -
Thought I would update this thread now I have had the suite for over a year. Its still fab - its still mega comfy - and its still like new. The recliner seat that I use squeaks a tiny bit but thats because its very well used!!! Once am in that chair am not coming out till bed time!0
