Isle of Wight Ferry Codes

NO, do book early though.0

I visit the IoW 5 times a year as my parents live there. Forget codes, in all the years we've been going over there has been 1, which was 10% off Red Funnel last Spring.
If you want to save money then pick early or late crossings which are sometimes half the price of midday crossings. Red Funnel are generally cheapest and in my experience more reliable than Wightlink. If you use either companies website then you can quickly see the difference in prices at different times when going through the booking process.
Otherwise it's Tesco vouchers with Wightlink, but be prepared to pay for the 2nd tier ticket with them not the cheapest. In my experience booking early or late makes little difference to prices, (except August).
Other ways to save money are to take your own food on board as both charge a fortune.Pants0 -
Just moved off the Island after 28yrs and retiring, one of the main reasons is the cost of the ferry.
As we have more time now to go for a day trip with the car cost "sometimes" £50.00 another time it could be £45.00 if we stay away more than one night the ferry fare goes up per every night we stay away, it's like being in one of the prisions.
For the cost of a ferry ticket we could by a lot of "go juice" for the car.
The newest catch is, if one is early for the ferry you booked on and you ask to go on an earlier ferry if possible they will want £12.00 off you, dont fall for it, last time i was early i wouldnt pay but got on anyway,
Wightlink are owned by some Australian banking/ investment co. Who dont give a s--t about the travellers!!!!!!!!!!
I would recommend booking the ferry as early as possible for your trip as for some reason the nearer your travel date you book it the more expensive it gets, dont ask!!!
You dont need food it's only 45 mins.
Booking early can matter by about £25.00, do take notice.
Hope this helps0 -
Hi
I have a RedFunnel one which expires on 7 September and you need to book online.
Code: MYRF2
This is a 20% discound, doesn't say travel is restricted.
I have used it today and no problems, I hope it is of some help.According to ABBA apparently it's a rich mans' world . . .:p0 -

It's explained in earlier posts that you must travel by 7 Sept to get 20% off with code MYRF2.
Is that what you are doing wrong?

I'm going on the 9th, also typical! If anyone has a code, I'd be very appreciative!0 -
For anyone wanting to travel to IOW this Saturday (10th Sept) then the Red Funnel Company are celebrating their 150th Anniversary by offering day returns for £20 for a car and I think it's £1.50 each way if you're a foot passenger. Just enter the code RF150.
We Were planning to go this week as in the Southampton area and received an email about this last night.
It is only for travel on the 10th though.0 -
OK, so i just decided that i wanted to head over to the island this weekend to see family... but didn't realise it was Bestival weekend until i went onto the red funnel site and saw it.. and the prices certainly reflect it!
My girlfriend was messing around in the promo code box and typed the code SUN ...
the next thing i know its gone through and all the prices have dropped from £70 odd each way to £22...
BUT
when i chose my times and clicked continue... it says invalid something or other at the top and seems it doesnt go through but if you wait a few seconds the 2 journeys will appear in your basket at the highly discounted cost!!
HOPE THIS HELPS!!!!
let me know how you get on!!
