MBNA Reclaim

Hi All
This is my first post, so please be gentle with me. I have been through the process of sending the first letter to MBNA, and after a few weeks I finally got a letter telling me that my claim had been upheld in my favour and that they would send the calculation of settlement within 6 weeks. That was exactly 6 weeks ago, and still no settlement calculation has arrived!
I called them last week, and was told that there is nothing they can do because they are still within the 6 weeks, and there had been a delay in making the calculation.
Clearly now we are over the 6 weeks. So I was just wondering where I stand now? Can I take the claim further? or should I wait a few more days to allow for their extremly slow postal system?
On a brighter note, my mum who sent her letters off the same day as me has had a successful claim from HFC, and got £10k back including a loan from the early 90's that she didn't ask to claim for.

Im going through exactly the same thing. My 6 weeks is up next week (tuesday). I sent them a business-like letter on friday, giving them my contact numbers, and finished it by saying that I was looking forward to hearing from them by the 23rd. If it doesnt turn up, I will be on the phone to them. Was your ppi for a loan or credit card? I think cards are harder to calculate the refunds on for some reason.0

Mine was a loan, which I took out in October 2005, and refinanced the loan in January 2007 again with MBNA.
When I spoke to the lady on Wednesday last week, it seemed to me that they hadn't even started to make the calculation, let alone send out a letter!0 -
I finally got round to ringing MBNA on Monday, 11 weeks after the original letter, so nearly double the time they said it would take to do my calculation. I was very polite with the guy, and told him I understood there was a backlog etc, but was wondering when my calculation would be done.
Good news is, he said the calculation would be done Monday! - RESULT! and they are going to BACS the repayment straight to my account. Still waiting for it, but hopefully it shouldn'tbe long now

Hi i suggest you email ian.odoherty@bankofamerica.com he,s the CEO of MBNA it worked wonders for me tell him your not happy and have waited long enough. Amanda0 -
Insist on a breakdown of the refund - the FOS today described MBNA's interest calculations as 'unusual at best'. If you're not happy with the figure you can still dispute it.0

I got an offer from MBA a couple of days ago. I had the card for over 8 years they have offered me £826.18 which they said had a breakdown of the following amounts:
£447.23 for PPI payments since the start of the policy
£185.81 interest associated with the PPI premiums
£193.14 interest a 8%.
Now I feel that this is not correct, I know that I was still paying at least £16 PPI on a balance as low as £500 when I cancelled it. I have called them up today and they have said that they will request a full breakdown of the figures that lead them to this amount. I am now becoming suspicious of them...again, especially if the FOS are now becoming concerned about their calculations.0
