Second Hand Car Dealer Rights?
Luvliss
My friend bought a second hand car 5 weeks ago and the car has completely broken down.
My friend took it back to the garage and they are saying she has to pay £800 for the repair. The fault is the 'starter motor' and the 'Fly Wheel'.
What are her rights with regards to this problem? I believe she may have paid cash for it.
Thank you for any advice!

Flywheel? What kind of car is it?
What kind of age? How much did she pay for the car?0 -
sounds like they might be trying it on. If the starter motor has gone why did they decide to play with the clutch as well?0

Faulty starter motors can damage the dual mass flywheel or the other way round i forget !0 -
Faulty flywheel fills the starter motor with debris, Nice strong magnets inside the motor ensures
it doesnt miss much of it.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Because the broken flywheel has damaged the starter motor (or vice-versa).The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

For whom; the buyer or seller? The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
Just a note to those who replied - thanks for the info!
She managed to get it sorted, she must have kicked off but she did mention the man wasn't a very nice man at all, he must have bowed under pressure. I didn't think it sounded right, but the SoG Act isn't very clear as it depends on a lot of factors.
Sorry I came with limited information, you know what facebook is like these days people are all:
'I don't believe this - WORST DAY EVER!!'
'What's wrong?'
'......'
'U Ok?'
'Don't worry about it'0
