Hi All, I am new here but have found the forum incredibly helpful whilst we are attempting to buy a new home. I am in a situation now where I dont really know what to do and a little third party help would be appreciated. You all seem to know your stuff! The agent haggles and negotiates every day, most buyers only do it three or four times in a lifetime! The agent will know no shame in trying to string you along with vague reasons etc., in the hope of breaking you into paying more. If you have the courage, silence is a powerful weapon... if you call back every day offering another few quid they will keep on saying 'ummmm...call back tomorrow' until you stop trying to offer more money. But if you go silent and seem to be retreating/considering other options, the ball shifts to their court, they will want to chase you instead if they think their fee is at risk!
