Just bought a joytech control center 540c for my to connect my xbox 360 and nintendo wii up to my tv as it only has one component slot. Just want to know are there any cables available to buy for a better quality signal from control center to the tv? I'm not sure whats right to buy so any tips would be appreciated - thanks in advance.

It is a question of Perception, a GOLD cable from a good manufacturer can often make a difference in picture quality / sound quality, but other people may not notice it.
It is worth spending about £20-£30 on a good cable , shorter is always better (signals decay on long cables) also make sure there are no other sources of electrical interference, such as loads of bunches of mains cables, wound up reels of cable or other devices near the cable run too.My Mind wanders, if found please return.0 -
ok - what are the names of the cables? All I know is that one is red/white/yellow and the other is red/blue/green I think, tried to check some out on play but wasn't too sure if I wasn't getting the right thing.0

yellow, white, red is composite and should be avoided like the plague
red blue green is component and the best analogue connection but is video only - sound needs seperate cables
If you are talking about gold plated then avoid like the plague as they are 90% cheap cables with a big splashy marketing point and there is evidence to say it worsens picture quality. If you are talking about solid gold cables (and I have seen them) then yes it would be good picture quality but going to be a little more than £20-30 unless you are talking per mm
Personally I would look for the brands QED and Ixos who both consistently are rated highly for the entry to mid level cables (they may seem expensive but when some people spend more on a single cable than most people do on a TV they really have to be rated as this)All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

monster cables are good - but buy of ebay from the states as it will cost you less in $ than it will in £ here.0

At the moment I have both composite and component connected from media center to the tv as it was the only way I could get the center to work properly?0 -
you should only need the red and white of the composite (yellow is video) and then get sound... alternatively just br a stereo connection cable if your tv doesnt have a supported digital sound inAll posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers
