Any offer of work which requires a setup fee is scam.
You will not receive any work. I give you my personal guarantee!0 -
Thanks all. I have been looking online for a while now for some data entry type jobs as I was trained to touch type in the forces and can go at some speed. I have a full time job at the moment but am trying to find extra ways for some income whilst being able to stay at home in the evenings.
I really want to tackle all of my debts this year and the extra money would help.0 -
I wouldn't be surprised to find that the 'training package' consists of some information about self-employment, instructions in how to place ads and most of all, detailed instructions in how to send emails that beginThank you for your application in the above mentioned position. You must be able to conduct yourself in a professional manner. This includes having excellent grammar and spelling when communicating with clients via e-mail.
In addition to the above you are also required to have the ability to follow instructions closely and clearly. All communication with me at Human Resources and your clients will be done by email...
You'll be required to find more people prepared to pay £14.95 in the hope of work, who in turn will be looking for more people happy to part with £14.95 and so it goes on.
Personally I wouldn't touch it. Paypal won't refund you if it does turn out to be a con.0 -
My friend sent her money off to a similar email at the end of November. She's heard nothing since. Only do it if you can afford to lose the money.January budget

Wouldn't a proper company pay you direct into your bank account instead of paypal which would charge you for withdrawing any funds under £50? Seems dodgy to me but then again I'm not very trusting when it comes to internet companies.Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

In the UNLIKELY event that this is not a 'scam' it certainly looks suspicious. I have the feeling that you may be asked to reccomend other people, eg friends, relations etc., to 'pay' the £14.95 against a 'promise' of further 'earnings' on their results.
I echo the advice above, and frequently given on this forum, in that you should avoid any venture which asks for an up-front payment.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Tell them to get their own house in order before asking you for fees
I would talk to your local chamber of commerce, job centre etc, see if they can advise of work from home schemes that don't ask for any upfront fees.0 -
I agree that it's literate and that that creates an air of credibility. But no genuine company will ask you to pay a set up cost to take you on. Any genuine employer would expect to make enough profit out of your good work to balance out any 'set up' costs of taking you on. It's a scam, albeit a well-dressed one.
Have you thought about AQA for homeworking? I did it for a while, until I didn't have enough time to put in the hours, because of my full time job. It'll never make you rich but it's really flexible work. Also have you thought about offering to do other people's ironing? Lots of people on DFW and moneysaving oldstyle have done this, and there certainly seems to be a market for it. Otherwise you could advertise locally that you can take on people's typing... or visit agencies because you may be surprised that some companies will happily let you work from home, audio typing etc... Do you have a university nearby? Apparently lots of overseas students will pay well to have people with good English proof-read and re-type their essays and dissertations...
Good luck, i can understand your need to find a way to make more money, but this one isn't it..
