Some kids live with me in my flat, but if housing benefit is cut any more I will start having to use my £105 week JSA or £216 week childtax credit towards my rent. That is not right is it?
i think you're supposed to claim your dead gran's benefits if you get into trouble.
either that or stop wasting time creating your silly pretend benefits claimant identity and get on with your work.0 -
The rationale behind the reduction in housing benefit is precisely so that there's an impact to the tenant in terms of their housing costs. If the housing subsidies cover the cost of the rent entirely, there's a massive issue of moral hazard whereby it doesn't make any difference to you what your housing costs are, since they're paid by the state.dickmysuck wrote: »Some kids live with me in my flat, but if housing benefit is cut any more I will start having to use my £105 week JSA or £216 week childtax credit towards my rent. Thus I'd argue it is right, and it puts you into the same situation as any other wage earner. If the price of your house is too much for your income, you'll need to move to a less expensive house. Just like everyone else, it's a matter of making sure your income meets your outgoings, and living within your means (well, a little beyond your means since you get benefits to supplement, but it's the same principle).0 -
Would they though ?...
At the moment however its all talk like it was last year and when the deadline comes they chicken out and postpone it, because too many people would be moving out of London and then prices would collapse.
London is a big city with the healthiest part of the economy still.
There might be a dip in rental prices, but then professional city workers with good incomes would find they are able to find decent properties in the capital.
London needs these sort of workers. It might sound harsh but it hardly needs long term unemployed like the original story subject.0 -

Yes I have a couple of kids and we are seperated, but I can't change that now.
The cuts to housing benefit and my other benefits terrify me. What are we suppossed to do if our benefit is cut under what we can get a flat for? We will have to use our other beneits JSA and child tax credit, and these are only just enough to live on as it is, all bills are going up and food is going up way more than my benefits.
Because life is tough and unfair and you can't always get what you want. I would love to own a Nissan Figaro and a penthouse in Central New York but I've got !!!! all chance of that happening. Should someone (i.e. the taxpayer) give me money for the things I want just because I feel I "need" them (read want). No. Of course not. And in the same way, there is no human right to live in London. Sorry, that's just the way thing are. Life can be disappointing at times.0 -

Yeah but its not fair if I have to move away from my home, I have only ever lived here. Went to school here drink here, all my friends are here.
It's not fair that I cant get a job, I know its crazy that if I got a job then total money per week would be less than my benefits. But that is the way it is so why work in some lousy job for min wage when I can get pleanty of money and spend time with the kids playing xbox360?
The problem is if the benefit cuts do come in and people like me have to move to cheaper areas then we well smash up the places we are forced to move out from. The mayhem we did last week is nothing compared to the anarchy we will create if our benefits get cut. Watch London burn then.
The gov know we have them up against the wall. So they will postpone the housing benefit cut again when the deadline is up.
You have to just play the cards you are delt.0 -

It does appear that the only skill you have is breeding. I am looking forward to the point where spongers are just sent away to the worst cheapest parts of the country and us that work can just get on with trying to make a living and improving our lot.0 -

1) Get a job
2) Create a stable home environment
3) Start thinking about kids
4) Prepare
5) Have kids
Instead of:
1) Have kids
2) Struggle
3) Whine about entitlements
4) Look for job0 -

PS, I would watch your mouth with comments like this. I know you're trolling now. But you're not as anonymous as you clearly (and naively) think you are

Well Im certainly not firing blanks
Yes I have got quite a few laddies into delicate state, but I am a good father. I spend time with all my kids, not like some dads who are never there for them.
Last year they said this April the 1st they would cut housing ben, and keep cutting it every year. But when the deadline came, they postponed the cuts. I was releived because my family would have lost both our flats. As long as they keep paying our rents 100% we are happy to keep living here and its great having 2 flats and lots of spare money.
I know lots of people hate me and say I should go and get a job, but while the system is so messed up you may as well be smart about things.0
