Looking for a Spa in South (Sussex/Hampshire)

Hi,

I am looking to find a hotel + spa in the south - Hampshire/Sussex area (ideally under an hour from Portsmouth area). Looking to take the OH away for her 30th and get her pampered up whilst having a night away from the little un.

Does anyone have any ideas - ideally ones that have special offers too!

Also on a side note does anyone know of any websites that specialize in spa breaks/treatments etc - that are going to have decent special offers and not ridiculous 500GBP+ per person per night prices.

All assistance and help greatly appreciated.

    Grayshott Hall or Forest Mere?

I had 2 nights at Forest Mere for my 40th & it was great! It's off the A3 near Liphook. Apparently it's where the late George Best was hanging out during his divorce.

Grayshott Hall is somewhere near Hindhead - but never been there!

Neither are particularly cheap! Quite often there are offers in slimmers or health & fitness magazines - worth a look!

  • Forest Mere as jfdi mentions is part of the Champneys group http://www.champneys.com . I've not been to Forest Mere but I've been to their Henlow Grange in Bedfordshire a few times.

To get the best deals here, don't pay for the standard tariff (under Residential Packages), but go to Promotional Packages and Late Availability Packages. These can be 40% cheaper in my experience. However, check what's included. Sometimes the cheaper breaks don't include as many treatments, or you need to leave the resort by eg 11am, rather than 4pm - see which ones suit you best.

If you're going at the weekend and you want any extra treatments, it's best to book them in advance as they'll be busy. Also let them know if you want them at a particular time.

The only travel agent I know who books spa breaks is Erna Low http://www.bodyandsoulholidays.info/ , but I think they might be on the pricier side.

    Hope this helps

  • You could try Chewton Glen (https://www.chewtonglen.com). Although their rates are usually eye watering, they do have some special Sunday night rates that are excellent value for money - look under Sunday Savers in Offers section. Residents can use the spa (although treatments are extra) which is fabulous - it's just been voted in the top 25 spas in the world.

    Hi,
I'm from Portsmouth and next week am off to senspa at Careys Manor in the New Forest. My husband booked it for a friend and i to give me a break from the 3 little ones too! It looks absolutely lovely and I cant wait.

Yeah - I'd been looking at Carey's - you'll have to let me know what it is like. As you say it looks ace.

Have a fun time - and thanks to you other guys for the advice.

I will pm you with a report on Careys when I get back! They sometimes give out promotional leaflets to those staying if they book another break (10% off and things like that). If I get anything given to me, I will send it on to you. (Far too expensive for me to be booking another stay for myself!)

I'd recommend Carey's Manor . It's just had a refurb and looking good.
