Olias, it's a life insurance policy, my mum died in April, so yes it's going to be cash.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

Ah, ok then, I'm sorry for your loss.

  • I have a similar problem - but in reverse.

I won a brand new 42 inch LCD tv last week in a raffle. However I dont need nor want it as I'm happy with the one I have.

Now I was going to put it on eBay but with the recent rioting I feel people may think its stolen! So I might keep it in its box until nearer to Christmas and eBay it then.

Wow if you're that paranoid i'm amazed you ever buy anything.

Common sense is the key. if it sounds too good to be true it normally is.
Actually, I share his concern when it comes to eBay items with moving parts, more because they are often on their last legs rather than being stolen, and also because whenever I've bought new electronic items like headphones, a watch, etc. etc. they've turned out to be knock-offs, and, in the case of the watch, disintegrated in my hands.

I've never tried CEX but for the price they offer I could just buy new with a full guarantee for a few more weeks' worth of savings.

I find Amazon much more worthwhile a place to buy anything electronic (this isn't an eBay site so it's OK to say that ;)) at a discount (last year's model, etc.) and if I want something to last I bypass eBay and Amazon and save up for a new item, or ask for it for birthday/Christmas etc.

I want a netbook for university (going back to do a postgrad) but I've asked for it for my October birthday rather than risk buying a cheap one online.

  • I'd also say buy it brand new from Amazon instead. Less likely to be any kind of dodgy dealings going on, and more likely to be working!!

Forunately I no l.ongewr have any netbooks on ebay as this thread would have sent me over the edge. There are many reputable sellers on ebay selling all these items. This would avoid the mythical millions of looted goods.
