We went to La Tasca for lunch today - food ok, service ok but not great. Received the bill, it clearly states at the bottom that service charge is not included and when paying by card gave you the option of whether or not to leave a tip. But, a 10% service charge WAS added to the bill between the sub total amount and the amount to pay. I questioned this with the waiter who said they are in the middle of using two systems and the problem is still to be sorted.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a difference between a service charge and a tip?
