Married Allowances - Confused please help

Options
My OH was posted to germany at the end of July, I am still living in England with our daughter. While he was at phase 2 training a mate told DH he was entitled to additional pay for living away from us. He checked this out with a sergeant who said he'd be entitled to a grand in back pay if he brought various documents including mortgage statements, c tax and utilities with his name on. He couldn't get them straight away and was leaving next day. He was told no problem, HR would sort it out when he got to Germany. Now he is there he has been told by a clerk that he is not entitled to anything as it is "my fault" for choosing not to move to Germany. i have tried to reseach this but it is as clear as mud to me as I find the edicts the army issue pretty much incomprehensible! Can anyone help or advise what we should do? Thanks.

That sounds like complete rubbish to me but the best thing you can do is get your OH to speak to Welfare. Obviously, I could be wrong - things have changed dramatically recently.

As you have chosen not join your husband in Germany, he will be classed as Voluntary Separated.

He is not entitled to any GYH(T) as he is serving in a different theatre to the family home.

However, he will be entitled to LSA Level 1 which is £6.69 per day.

Thanks for clarifying that. Sorry to sound stupid but what does LSA stand for?
