Will i get an email telling me if anyone has won the item? Do i have to print off anything to send with the item? Any help as to what to expect would be appreciated.

post the link to your sale,
might be good to see what you are selling
what happens an email si sent to you stating whether it sorry you item didnt sell
or congratualtions etc.
then a picture is given with dleivery charge
same time the bidder gets a winnign email stating payment and your mail address and also what to pay
thats all realy

You'll get an e-mail from e-bay as soon as the listing has ended to tell you if the item has sold and buyer's details. You can then send an invoice to the buyer but you often get an e-mail from the buyer pretty quickly saying how they're going to pay you (e.g. I'll be sending a cheque etc)
Good luck - hope you make some money!!0 -
I like to print off the screen saying they've paid and then write "paid, thank you" on it to send with the item. It seems more personal and friendly to receive something like that in a parcel. I have had sellers who wrote a letter (!) which was also nice but seems a bit OTT.
But if you want to save printer ink you can just post the item without any additional things in the envelopeMurphy's No More Pies Club #209

Everybody has their own way of doing their end of auction mails. As I have had major problems in the past getting mail across to AOL users I tend to send both the invoice through ebay (just click on send invoice) and also a personal email, on the basis that at least one might get through. I have the personal email in a desktop folder so I just have to cut and paste it and personalise it using the buyers name. In that email I say that I have already sent an invoice showing my payment details but can also accept a bank transfer (which very few actually take up) if the buyer prefers.
If the buyer then pays immediately by paypal which 99% do, I thank them for the payment and let them know when I will be shipping the item, usually within 24 hours. If the item is going recorded or special I also let them have the tracking number at that point (I keep a bundle of blank forms at home).
That's about it really.
Good luck, you'll be hooked from now on.
