I have found my loan papers which in took out from barclays in 2005 and on the loan agreement papers it says "barclayloan without protection"
Amount of loan: 7000
Total charge for credit: 1843.40
Total amount payable: 8843.40
Monthly payment: 147.39
Number of repayments: 60
With the papers there is also a payment protection document statement of demands and needs and price. My question is do I have ppi on this loan? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi there
I would contact Barclays to make sure on this, it seems strange the Credit Agreement does not state PPI, yet other paperwork you have does, give them a ring. Good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"

From what you say, it sounds as though the main loan did not have a PPI premium added to it.
If so, then that closes down one avenue of complaint.
The other route is that the cover was not needed but a statement of demands and needs is evidence of what you were told Barclays understood your circumstances and requirements to be. An argument now that it was inaccurate ought not to lead to a complaint being upheld because you should have told them at the time.
Only if the cover was inconsistent with what they understood to be your requirements would it be appropriate to uphold a complaint in those circumstances.0
