Garden irrigation
Hi
I have perforated hose around the flower beds but it gives very uneven results. I would like to buy mini sprinklers that I could adapt to fit onto the hose (or normal hose) that I could then spike into the soil.
Short of buying a complete kit at great expense, I wondered what other members have done.
Any advice much appreciated.

I haven't actually had to water my garden this year, I do the pots but thats it the plants seem to have managed quite well as its not been hot and sunny much... What is it that needs watering ?#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

Everything in the beds needs watering as the garden is south facing. I've put down loads of bark chippings and that has helped, but I'd really like to adapt the hose that I've got.0

The kits are much cheaper on Ebay, not branded Hozelock mind.
TBH I doubt you'd have much luck using a leaky hose to drive micro-drippers, the water pressure would be all over the place when trying to adjust the flow.0 -

I agree that using conventional hose would be better. Re- micro drippers, I'm pretty sure that my ex-neighbour used popup sprinklers, but I've never seen them used on a conventional hose..0 -

16mm polypipe is the usual 'hose' used, with more flexible lines of around 5 or 6 mm coming off to feed the drippers /sprayers using barbed connectors.
Have a look at LBS warehouse to compare prices. I buy from their trade catalogue, so I don't know how they would compare for you.
