First question is why do you have to do all this ironing? The lady above had a business so needed to do it, but there's a lot of domestic ironing done that doesn't really need it. Work shirts and blouses yes, but what else really needs ironed in your house?

It's just work shirts, blouses and trousers, seriously.

Can some of these not be tumble dried to damp and then hung up, thus not requiring ironing? Or in future if you're buying work clothes get more that don't need ironing at all? And seriously, if your OH is fit and you're not, he can do his own ironing surely? He could even do yours too, if you're unwell. There's no law saying the female half of the couple is responsible for it.
    Val.
  • I like to iron pillowcases.

Sheets are less noticeable, especially if you wear pyjamas, but a freshly ironed pillow-case makes all the difference, and takes so little time.
A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.
  • I'm not unwell, I'm just shattered when I get in from work, and even more shattered once the little one is in bed.

Unfortunately due to my odd shape I have a fairly limited selection of retailers to buy from, and most of my clothes can't be tumble dried. I also do really badly with sythetics - they make me smell

It's not been too bad so far though - the OH has done his own ironing and has even done a little bit of mine - RESULT!
