Emusic.com taking money after saying it could not process my card

Hello,
I saw an offer for a free trial at emusic.com and thought I'd sign up. To complete the application for the trial you have to give your card details, I tryed and it said that my card payment could not be processed and that I should try again later. I thought it was too much hastle and didn't go back to the site again. Now 1 month later they have charged me £9.99 for a membership to their site. I recieved no emails from them or warning they were going to do this and I've never logged in to the account that I couldn't finish making. I've read online that they do this sort of thing alot. How can I get my money back?

Phone them and ask them for refund or do a charge back through your bank.0

They say that they wont refund me as I didn't cancel my account in time. I did tell them that the website told me it couldn't finish creating my account because it couldn't process my details and that I didn't know I had an account to cancel but they still won't refund me. How do I go about claiming the money back through my bank? My account is with lloyds.0

IMHO no confirmation of contract (letter or email) means no contract. But chances getting them to accept this? Slim, and probably not worth the effort - other than to make sure they can't charge your card again. Was this a credit or debit card?0

It was a debit card0
