Help - Up to now I have used compatible ink with my Epson printer and know that when the printer tells me cartridge not recognised that it time to change the cartridge.
This time however even after trying to change the cartridge with two different compatible inks it still shows the message and i cannot print.
What should i do next? fork out money on the Epson cartridge in hope the problem is solved or just get a new printer???

Remove the inks, switch the printer off, remove the power lead from the back of the printer for a few minutes, replace the power lead, switch the printer on and wait for it to ask for the ink, install the cartridges.
Sometimes you can simply lift a cartridge up and push it straight back down
Which make are the cartridges?0 -

Thanks - just tried that - didn't work. It is a PC World one - just the pink does work - def ink in it.0 -
I use Pro Jet, ukdvdr or bigpockets do them
http://new.ukdvdr.co.uk/cat.php?s=Ink+%26+Toners&nav=768
http://www.bigpockets.co.uk/cartridge_finder.php?&nav=8&ref=home_side
If you still have the original cartridge, even if empty, try putting that in and then retry the compatible
Getting new originals would either solve it, or allow you to return the printer to Epson if it is under warranty
Check amazon or sometimes Epson have offers

They are not the think range are they? Not sure what pc world sell but got mine from choice stationary. They are incompatible with some Epson printers including mine. I'm going to order a set of Jettec ones which seem to work according to google. Never had problems with other brands in the past. Which model is it , mine is an SX200.0

Sometimes the micro chips on the refills are not altered when they are cleaned and refilled then you get the problem saying cartridge not reconised, yoour better off buying the jetec ones as they are good and tend to last longer than most of the other refills0

The problem with think cartridges and some Epson printers has been reported by numerous people on the net. Had a look at the pc world site and I presume it's their essentials range. If you look at the first review it simply says "doesn't work". Sounds a similar issue to the think range.0

You can always get a chip re-setter tool to reset the chip on the ink cartridge.0
