Heathrow Passport Control

What a total shambles.
Returned from holiday earlier this week, and the queue for passport control was extending out of the passport control hall down the corridor back to the arrival gate. There were just 3 desks open for UK/EU arrivals without the newer passports. Yet the non EU desks were nearly fully staffed and there was hardly any queue there.
It took us 1 hour, 35 minutes to get through passport control.
Then we got to baggage reclaim - because we has been so long in passport control, the bags for our flight had already appeared on the carousel and had been unloaded by airport staff into a huge heap. The entire plane load of passengers had to resort to clambering over and through all these cases to find their bags - at least two bags (fortunately not ours) had opened and their contents strewn all over the place. There were similar heaps for other flights, and an lot of raised tempers.
A wonderful first impression of England for our foreign visitors.
