Hi all,
My second thread. We are getting our bathroom done and my wife (also) wanted an automatic light switch for the it. She saw this in the toilet of one of the bathroom shop we have been to. Now I think it would be ok in a toilet only setup but how would it work in a shower? There are IP rated PIR so that is not an issue. Has anyone got any experience with this?

I'm an electrical design engineer and we do this quite a lot at work as most buildings now incorporate shower facilities for the staff.
The most important things are that:-
The sensor can detect you whilst in the shower and in the room
You set a reasonable time delay (say 8 minuites minimum)
Its IP rated to a minimum of IPX4 (Which you appear to have already covered).
We've never had any problems with doing this.I have a lot of problems with my neighbours, they hammer and bang on the walls sometimes until 2 or 3 in the morning - some nights I can hardly hear myself drilling0 -
The PIR detects movement. If you lay in the bath too long soaking without moving the light will go off . (Depends on time set ) Can be prevented by lifting and waving one leg about every few minutes,You scullion! You rampallian! You fustilarian! I’ll tickle your catastrophe (Henry IV part 2)0
