right, i've been looking at monitors aroung the 22" size but it dawned on me, for that size i could get a half decent lcd tv, as long as it had the relavent connectors for my graphics card , it would be ok.
could anyone tell me if this would be ok before i dive in. thanks

if it supports full hd 1920x1080 resolution it'll be fine0

Even if it doesn't it'll be fine. If you look up the right leads/plugs you can connect it via the HDMI that all HDTVs have anyway; that's how my 32" LCD TV is hooked to my main PC; and its only running 1024x768. Works like a charm. Another advantage is built in speakers; you can just run a cable straight from PC to some TV's audio input' mine works for this :-)
Not sure if you can still get mine in shops though...Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.- Mark TwainArguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon: no matter how good you are at chess, its just going to knock over the pieces and strut around like its victorious.0 -
It will work OK, but whether it will be suitable depends what you want to use it for. My son uses a very large TV as a monitor - he thought it would be great for gaming, and it is - but he needs to sit a long way back from it because of its size.
However, this means that it's awkward for other purposes, either he has to fiddle with web page sizes, or font sizes, or else get headaches from eye strain when using the comp for activities that involve reading. So he turns to his laptop...
Also he gets badgered by the TV licensing people because of his TV "monitor". He doesn't watch live TV, so he doesn't actually need a license... but if you have an apparatus that is capable of receiving it, they can be persistant.0 -
I think better to stick with a computer monitor.
Something like the BenQ G2420HD 24 inch Widescreen LCD Monitor(2ms Response Time, 1920x1080, 2 Years On Site Swap Warranty) in conjunction with a HD Freeview box with HDMI is worthy of consideration.
Of course you can go cheaper than that, though I would go for a LED backlit screen.0 -
the main reason was because of the speakers, don't really like the idea of having to purchase them seperate. thanx0

i'm using a 21.5" LCD TV for my PC monitor (it's 1080p with FreeView and a DVD player) I never need to leave my Computer desk ^_^ lol
Most LCD's these days will have DVI and HDMI fewer are coming with VGA connections these days (that's a WHOLE other rant!)
HDMI can take audio as well as video (you just have to make sure your Graphics card can pass the audio) If not treat it like a DVI / VGA connection.
DVI / VGA are video only so you'll need a separate lead from your "line out" of your PC to the "Line In" of the screen.Laters
