Deltas Airlines seating & Baggage trouble

Delta are not much good really. Old aircraft, often dirty and tried. The cabin crew are much the same. Think Air France but worse. Funnily enough, they are the same company now.
US airlines in general are poor in comparison with European or Asian airlines, but I find United and AA much better than Delta.0 -
Anyone been on delta business class?travelover0

We got upgraded to business class when we offered to take a later flight JFK - LAS, the only difference was we had more room and didnt get plastic knifes and forks and we got drinks more frequently. It was a good experience but not worth paying for0

I missed this originally - I don't know what you mean? I check online usually weekly leading up to the flight so if it happens our seats have been moved (for whatever reason) we can jump in and reselect seats we're happy with - once we actually found that seats we preferred had reappeared and we snapped them up...we don't spend valuable holiday time sitting in an airport to do this? On the return, we normally check in online from our hotel and that's that.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
I travelled CVG - JFK - MAN, MAN - JFK - CVG about 2 weeks ago in business.littlereddevil wrote: »Anyone been on delta business class?
CVG - JFK was in a 737. Seat configuration 2-2 compared to 3-3 in economy. Seat pitch 38" compared to 31" in economy.
JFK - MAN was in a 757. Again seat configuration 2-2 compared to 3-3 in economy. Seat pitch 60" compared to 31" in economy.
Me and my gf have a 3 month old baby. We got a bassinet for the transatlantic flight.
Overall -
Seats - Excellent. Internal flights are much more comfortable. Translatlantic were a world apart from economy.
The transatlantic flights were not lay flat beds. They were pretty old fashioned. But still OK.
Entertainment - Internal, same as economy. They're pretty good. Live TV.
Transatlantic. On the way over was good. Private TV's. On way back. No private TV's. With a 10 week old TV's weren't used!
Food - On the way over was excellent. 3 course BIG meal.
On the way back was very average. Beef was cremated. GF's chicken was rock hard was so dry.
Another big advantage is being able to use the lounges to relax.
I've flown US Airways (awful), Virgin and BA in business. I'd rank them -
Virgin
BA
Delta
US
I used airmiles so never paid the $2,000 odd the tickets were (had to pay $206 for the little one - 10% of the adult fare).
Would I pay $2,000? No.0 -
We found Delta very good when OH had a pair of very expensive boots go missing from my golf bag on our return to LHR. Only noticed them missing when we got home. Filled out the online form, sent in receipt for the boots, never spoke to anyone in person, and within 4 weeks received a cheque for over £600The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

Delayed baggage for 24 or even 48 hours is ok, but we're already at over 56 hours and now we have the weekend.
We returned from New York with virgin 2 weeks yesterday and Mrs Pb's bag went missing, and is still missing!, guess its just one of those things however Im not allowed to say the word "ghd" around herLive each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -
Anyone been on delta business class?
Yes. A couple of times now. Last time in June on LHR/JFK/LHR.
I thought the service and cabin this time around much better that the old B767's they used to use from Gatwick to Atlanta.0 -
