No discount code but I got a good deal on marriott website - 84 pounds per room per night bed and breakfast , room sleeps two people , so 42 each

Also 25 pounds per pwrson per night off any addittional spends so if you go to restaurant and spend 65 pounds for instance on a meal for two you only pay 15 !!!!

Look on their website under escape packages
  • If you don't mind going budget you MIGHT be able to get 2 rooms at York Travelodge in the centre of York. The family rooms sleep 3 adults (about £60 per night) and are the same price as a twin room (about £60 per night). So for five of you the two rooms would cost about £120 in total (about £24 each for the night). With it being a Saturday night though in a very popular "weekend" city you would need to book fast on the Travelodge website. If not I am sure there are a few more budget travel inns/lodges in a city like York.

It depends on how much you want to spend.

I can personally recommend the Knavesmire Manor and Elmbank as good places to stay. The latter being closer to the town center.

Sorry, I don't have any codes but I have done quite a lot of looking for hotels in York in the last couple of years and found that a good place for cheaper rates is laterooms.co.uk. (Not just for York of course, but anywhere.) It's not usually so easy to get a good rate at the weekend, though.

Most B&B's in York start from around £50-£60 for a double/twin room at the weekend, hotels about £80. Quite a few hotels also have a minimum 2-night booking over the weekend. One on laterooms that catches the eye is the Parsonage County House hotel, normally £120 but £59 for an ensuite double/twin on the 3rd March! It's about 5 miles south of York in a small village on the A19 and looks really nice when I've driven past it, also right next to a superb Thai restaurant. I've never stayed there but definitely would have done if I'd seen it at that price when I needed somewhere to stay! No use to you if you're getting to York by train, but fine if travelling by car (parking in York's useless anyway).

From bitter experience, one to avoid in York is the Ramada Encore - paper-thin walls and laminate floors along with the nosiest road in the livliest part of the city make for a very long night... The Travelodge looks alright though it's above a big Wetherspoons which will probably be pretty busy on a Saturday night, might not be ideal if you're travelling with kids.
